In Guinea's first legislative election since the 2021 coup, junta leader Mamady Doumbouya's Generation for Modernity and Development (GMD) coalition won a large majority with 64% of the vote and 93 of 147 seats (over 100 with allies). Major opposition parties were dissolved before the vote and observers noted low turnout amid a broader democratic-transition process widely criticized as tightly controlled.
